Style Guide
From Advanced Epic 8 Wiki
Welcome to Advanced Epic 8 Style Guide. This page shall help creating pages that always look familar.
Contents |
[edit] Categories
It is desireable to have well Structured Categories. But Category Bloat should be avoided. Especially Magic Spells and Feats have the potential to produce an unlimited amount of categories.
Therefor no page shall exist that lists a single Feat or a single Spell.
- Feats shall be thematically organized.
- Magical spells shall be alphabetically grouped like in a telephone-book.
[edit] Class Description
A class description shall consist of multiple sections:
- Profile - A few sentences that stress what a class is good for.
- Benefits - Relevant Advantages including Class Table and Favored Skills
- Drawbacks - Well every class has some, but it's good to write them out clearly
- Class Features - Listing of all class features. Long Class features (see below) should be extracted
to a global class Feature Page that lists Class Features in alphabetic order.
[edit] Class Features
Several Class Features like Spellcasting, Animal Companion, Familiar or Paladin Mounts are very long and there are multiple classes having these features. In order to reduce the number of pages and keep the class descriptions short there shall be a single page that lists class features shared by multiple classes or class features that have a long text.
[edit] License Tag
All pages related to gaming shall have a box in with yellow background declaring pages as Open Game Content. This must be set for all rules-related sections.
<div style="background-color:yellow;border: thin solid black; width: 100 pt; text-align: center; padding: 5pt;">Open Game Content</div>
Now it looks like this:
